Sleeplessness or Sleep disorders
Loss or Lack of sleep is termed as INSOMNIA
The term "Insomnia" refers to having trouble sleeping and staying asleep. ICD-10 also describes it as difficulty in getting off to sleep, difficulty in the maintenance of sleep and unsatisfactory sleep quality. It is a very common sleep condition that has negative effects on daily functioning, behaviour, and quality of life.
It also has negative economic and professional repercussions. Insomniacs have difficulty remaining asleep or getting asleep.
According to the Unani medical system, a condition known as "Sehar" can be found in the old Unani literature and is similar to insomnia.
The temperaments Haraarat and Yaboosat (Hotness & Dryness), which refine the Rooh e Nafsani (Mental Pneuma / Pyschic Soul) and its movement outward, are also noted as contributing to Sehar (Insomnia), which is excessive wakefulness.
Normal sleep is attributed to the body's Rutoobat vo Buroodat (Moistness & Coldness); if there is an imbalance, it suggests the preponderance of Yaboosat vo Haraarat (Dryness & Hotness) widespread in the brain, which is claimed to be the main cause of Insomia.
@ Sage Unani Hospital we provide a vast array of single and compound medications, regimens, and treatments that can be utilized both internally and topically for the management of Sleeplessness.
For one to maintain good physical and mental health, adequate rest and sleep are necessary. It might be a nightmare to have trouble falling asleep or to have a restless and interrupted sleep every night.
Insomnia may leave a person mentally stressed out in addition to the extreme physical exhaustion and lethargy, which is sure to have an effect on their personal and professional lives and responsibilities. The prevalence of insomnia has been alarmingly increasing over the past few years.
Not everyone who suffers from insomnia displays the same symptoms. Some people's condition, known as transient insomnia, may only last a few days or weeks. Some individuals may experience intermittent insomnia.
The Symptoms and Signs of Insomnia
In severe cases, insomnia and the discomfort it causes (chronic insomnia) may last for months. Some health diseases, including diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, heart problems, and GERD, to mention a few, can cause sleeplessness as a symptom.
In addition to bad dietary and lifestyle choices, sleeplessness is also known to be significantly influenced by extreme anxiety and depression.
